Not every repair is as straightforward as it first appears. Our recent project at a fitness centre in Cardiff proved to be a clear example of how essential it is to investigate beyond the surface when tackling HVAC issues.
We were contacted to carry out repairs on several non-operational air conditioning systems within the facility. At first glance, it seemed like a routine service job. However, a thorough inspection revealed a much more serious issue — the external pipework had been vandalised and removed, leaving the systems exposed to the elements.
This damage had allowed rainwater to infiltrate the pipework, introducing significant levels of moisture into the systems and compromising their overall function.
What followed was a careful and methodical three-week repair process, involving:
Given the nature of the facility and its reliance on air conditioning for both member comfort and equipment efficiency, minimising downtime while ensuring a high standard of repair was crucial.
The system was successfully restored to full functionality, with improved resilience against environmental damage. This project served as a reminder that each job presents its own set of challenges, and that true problem-solving often requires going beyond the obvious to get to the root cause.
We take pride in approaching every call-out with a detail-focused mindset, ensuring that solutions are long-term, not just quick fixes.
